My uncle had one of those little Dodge Ram 50 mini trucks. Back then, a lot of the trucks didn’t come with a rear bumper, so you either paid extra for one from the dealer or you built one yourself. The guy he bought his truck from went the latter route and put a nice wide pipe bumper on the back.

His neighbor had a dog who like to chase cars. The day he brought his “new” truck home, the dog heard him coming and started the daily chase. My uncle said he heard a “woof, woof, woof, BANG!” and spotted the dog rolling in the ditch. The dog got a little too close and was knocked upside the head by that long bumper. He learned a lesson. That truck was the only thing he never chased again.

I’m glad he didn’t get hit.  Was he trying to catch the car?

Wasn’t exactly a big swerve but you make a valid point.

When we did the eastern Oklahoma Adventure Trail we had this situation about 3-5 times a day.  It was insane.  Thankfully didn’t hit any...
